Welcome Home Jail Bird!

This is my BIL...let's call him...Inmate #666, got out of prison on Tuesday. He had only been in about 18 months, (second stint) but to my MIL, he is the chosen one! Now, he is a lot of fun, loves my kids immensely, used to be a crack head, and is only 47 yrs old!!!

Don't cha just love the white beard?

The lady at Von's grocery store made this...we didn't have much to work with.

We only get together as a Rader family when we have to, so he was grateful!
This is so my life...

Anyway, Happy Mother's Day everyone, hope it is all you desire, except my mom...who wrote an anonymous message on my last post! She eludes to the fact that I inherited my "bad mother" qualities from her! Oh please! I earned those qualities all on my own thank-you-very-much! I have the gray hairs and the He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named to prove it! Hey I bought you a cake now be nice!!!
Jules...for you!

P.S. Parenting from the Trenches

I couldn't agree with your comment more! The crazy thing is Bryson agrees with you too! It almost takes an act of God to get him to school anymore! He DREADS it SO MUCH!

You have to know that Bryson is as CONSERVATIVE as they come. He says that all the professors at the U are into brainwashing young, naive students into liberalism!

He seriously HATES the school! He will go around campus and find a political science class and sit in on the class just to see what they are saying. He is the ONLY person who will speak his mind and actually disagree with the professor. It's pretty funny actually!

If we could get him into BYU and have him graduate no later, then we would do it! Unfortunately I don't think either could happen. So, we will just suffer through it and be done in a year! Ugh...it's going to be a long one, VERY LONG!

Queenie, you are DA BOmB. Just wanted to tell you that. What a hee heelarious cake. I LOVE IT. I'm LOLing about it. I have a jailbird uncle who actually spent his entire life in jail. In and out about 60 times, but nices guy. He just died last week. I should be sadder, but I didn't even know him. Do you think they'll make a cake like that in heaven when he walks through the pearly gates?

I really hope so.

Thanks for being so supportive of my blog.

I think everyone should have a jailbird in the family. I'm lucky, I have two.

I hope he appreciated that cake!

The cake is a riot! I'm a cake decorator myself and honestly - that's an "occasion" I've never had to commemorate in frosting - thank goodness!

I can see the resemblance between Homer and the BIL. Does that mean Homer can grow a beard also? If so, I think they should start a ZZ Top look-a-like band.

That is too funny... and you are DEFINITELY not a bad Mom... so sad we didn't meet up for lunch!

Don't be bitter! I am a liar. We got home Sunday night. Just wanted to piss off some people for Mother's Day. Aren't I thoughtful?

I just dropped by to tell you how sweet you are.

Okay, so you're not sweet. But you don't need to be sweet because you're pretty.

OK, you're a kick. Does McFly know where her nickname comes from? I read the post about her wanting to live with the birth grandparents. Oy. That "year o' pms" that all 11 year-olds go through is hell on a cracker, let me tell you! Even if you were the bio mom, she'd be wanting to go live with her neanderthal grandparents because they would at least eat her homework. It is ALWAYS something with girls that age. You have my sympathies.

And I have a brother who wears a beard just like your BIL's and has a passing acquaintance with american judicial system, something of an "insider", as it were. You gotta laugh, you gotta love them. They're family.

Do you live in Vegas? We're waaaay NW, up by the Floyd Lamb park and Mt. Charleston. (Which is where we live, even if you DON'T live in Vegas...)
